As a lifestyle expert with a keen interest in Bollywood and politics, I must say that today, December 9, 2024, is indeed a special day for the Indian film industry and beyond. The legendary Shatrughan Sinha, affectionately known as ‘King Khamosh’ by his daughter Sonakshi, turns another year older. His impact on cinema and politics has been nothing short of extraordinary.
9th December 2024 is the birthday of the legendary Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha, who is well-known for his powerful screen presence, unique voice, and memorable lines. Today, Sonakshi Sinha, his daughter, expressed a heartfelt birthday wish on Instagram, affectionately calling him ‘King Khamosh.’ Indeed, he has left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry.
On a memorable occasion, Sonakshi Sinha posted an exclusive photograph alongside her father, Shatrughan Sinha. The heartwarming image captures them embracing tenderly.

Through his appearances in films such as Sajan, Mere Apne, Paras, Khoj, Gambler, and others, he showcased an impressive screen presence and exceptional line delivery. Yet, it is his iconic phrase “Khamosh” that remains deeply etched in the hearts of his admirers even today.
Right now, I can’t help but be utterly enthralled by the political journey of Sinha. Just last month, I was ecstatic to learn that he triumphed in the West Bengal Asansol constituency during the Lok Sabha election! According to the official website of the Election Commission of India (ECI), he clinched the victory with an impressive margin of 59,564 votes.
Sinha was twice elected to the Rajya Sabha, first in 1996 and again in 2002. He held the positions of Minister of Health and Family Welfare from 2002 to 2003, and then served as Minister for Shipping from 2003 to 2004 within the administration of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In the year 2009, he clinched the Patna Sahib Lok Sabha seat representing the BJP party, surpassing Congress’s Shekhar Suman who ended up in third place. He successfully defended the seat in 2014, triumphing over Congress nominee Kunal Singh.
In 2019, the BJP removed him from the Lok Sabha elections and instead selected veteran leader Ravi Shankar Prasad to run in Patna Sahib, thereby concluding a thirty-year relationship between the two parties.
Currently, Sonakshi Sinha, also known as his daughter and actress, just got married to Zaheer Iqbal. After dating for seven years, they finally tied the knot in a private ceremony surrounded by close friends and relatives. Later in the day, they hosted a grand reception filled with Bollywood stars.
The couple often posts pictures and videos, showing their affection for one another and offering glimpses into their happy married life.
