Sony to Release Special Edition ‘Astro Bot’ Wireless Controller

As a dedicated PlayStation gamer with a deep affection for innovative gaming experiences and unique collectibles, I can’t help but be thrilled by Sony‘s latest offering: the limited-edition Astro Bot DualSense wireless controller. Having grown up playing the original Astro Bot games and being utterly captivated by their charming worlds and addictive gameplay, this new controller feels like a perfect homage to my childhood memories.

Before the new edition of the “Astro Bot” series hits the market, Sony introduced a wireless controller featuring an image of the robot character from the game.

An upgraded version of the PlayStation DualSense wireless controller’s limited edition comes with a white foundation and blue embellishments on the grips and keys, matching Astro’s own hue. The touchpad showcases two simulated eyes, mirroring Astro’s visage.

Team Asobi, which is part of Sony’s PlayStation Studios, created “Astro Bot”: a thrilling 3D adventure game where players guide Astro on his quest to save fellow robots spread across fifty planets. As they journey through various galaxies, they traverse between planets using the Dual Speeder – an impressive spacecraft reminiscent of the PlayStation controller design.

In a delightful continuation from 2020’s “Astro’s Playroom,” Astro Bot explores an enlarged game universe, introducing fresh skills for our bot hero. A teaser trailer showcases the vibrant setting and some of the new friends and adversaries Astro will meet along his adventure.

Sony has enhanced the texture Feeling for users on their DualSense controllers, representing various surfaces that Astro moves over, ranging from sand to grass to water. Additionally, Astro’s abilities synchronize with the controller’s haptic feedback system.

The special edition Astro Bot DualSense controller, priced at $80 USD, will be released on September 6, coinciding with the game’s premiere.
