Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has unveiled a set of global distribution contracts for the pulse-pounding action-thriller, Red Eye. These agreements have been signed across over 120 countries around the world.
The Doctor Who producers under the name Bad Wolf are spreading their TV feature to various platforms and channels in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Africa.
Significant agreements have been made, such as those with France Television, Germany’s Netflix, Australia’s Stan, Canada’s Paramount+, Central and Eastern Europe’s Max and HBO Max. MNET’s Showmax acquired the movie rights for their service throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, while AXN Asia secured the rights in Southeast Asia and TVING in Korea. Other deals were also finalized.
The British television premiere of “Red Eye” drew over 8 million viewers, making it the second most popular new drama on ITV1 and ITVX in the U.K. for the year.

The six-episode thriller, titled Red Eye, was crafted by screenwriter Peter A Dowling. This gripping series weaves together the narratives of police inspector Hana Li (Jing Lusi), journalist Jess Li (Jemma Moore), and MI5 agent Madeline Delaney (Lesley Sharp). Their lives become interconnected as they find themselves ensnared in a mystery revolving around the arrest of British doctor Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage) for murder, after his arrival back from Beijing.
