‘Sorry, Who?’: Marvel Fans Might Not Know Ralph Ineson, But He’s The Perfect Choice To Play Galactus In The Fantastic Four: First Steps

As a Marvel fan with a lifetime of comic book adventures under my belt, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“. The thought of these iconic characters finally becoming an integral part of the MCU is like a dream come true for me. And when it comes to Galactus, they couldn’t have picked a better actor than Ralph Ineson.

Enthusiasts of Marvel films are eagerly anticipating the lineup of forthcoming movies as an opportunity to further strengthen the momentum instilled by the blockbuster hit of last summer, Deadpool and Wolverine. The pairing of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman served as a reminder to casual MCU viewers that these films can seamlessly blend world-building with humor, intelligence, excitement, and enjoyment. In 2025, there are three Marvel films set for release, and it’s the one that has me particularly thrilled which seems to be causing some apprehension among its co-stars as well.

The upcoming movie titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” signifies the initial entry of this iconic superhero quartet into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a playful nod to the phrase. Although there have been previous Fantastic Four films, this time around they will integrate seamlessly into the MCU’s continuous narrative, much like Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who debuted in Joe and Anthony Russo’s “Captain America: Civil War.” In addition, the Fantastic Four is anticipated to present a number of crucial characters from their comic book realm, starting with Galactus, the cosmic entity known for consuming planets, who will be brought to life by Ralph Ineson. At the premiere of his upcoming film “Nosferatu,” Ineson discussed his role as Galactus, acknowledging his casting openly.

Experiencing that moment was incredibly humbling. I wondered how the announcement would be received, given the notable figures associated with it and all the speculation surrounding casting. Frankly, I anticipated some skepticism with reactions like, “Who’s that?” But surprisingly, it turned out to be a delightful and touching experience that boosted my confidence for the role. In truth, knowing that many fans are supportive of me taking on this project truly warmed my heart.

Although Ralph Ineson may not be widely recognized, despite his roles in the Harry Potter series, Star Wars films (as part of The First Order), and several movies directed by Robert Eggers including the upcoming “Nosferatu”, many fans instantly recognize his deep, ominous voice and envision him as an ideal portrayal of Galactus. This cosmic villain stands taller than skyscrapers and often threatens to consume your planet upon arrival.

I don’t care what the casuals think. I’m here to tell you that Ralph Ineson is perfect as the choice to play Galactus on screen. His voice, alone, is terrifying. But add in the fact that he’s a terrific actor, so if they somehow succeed in bringing his personality to life through motion-capture, then Galactus will be a tragic threat in The Fantastic Four. However, if you want to hear how effective a voice can be in making a character more terrifying, go see what Bill Skarsgard has done with his voice in Nosferatu. It’s bone chilling.

We’ll have to be patient until July to discover how Ralph Inseon will portray Galactus in the Fantastic Four series, and it seems that the entire cast, including Marvel’s original family along with Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Julia Garner from Ozark who will play the Silver Surfer, are eagerly awaiting their roles as well. This casting choice is truly captivating, and we can hardly wait for this movie to arrive.
