The doctors and nurses of St. Denis Medical will remain on call at NBC.
The television network has decided to produce another season of the humor-filled sitcom, which presents a fictional account of the overburdened employees at a financially strapped hospital in Oregon. This decision was made as the program prepares to resume after a break on Tuesday evening, concluding the first half of its current season.
For the upcoming 2025-26 season, St. Denis Medical becomes the first NBC rookie series to secure a renewal. Meanwhile, comedy show Happy’s Place, featuring Reba McEntire, received an order for extra episodes in November, which is often a positive indication for a series. The medical drama Brilliant Minds concluded its 13-episode season recently; NBC has three dramas – Grosse Pointe Garden Society, The Hunting Party, and Suits LA – set to debut over the next few weeks.
Over its initial six episodes, St. Denis Medical has been garnering about 3 million viewers during its first broadcast, but that number jumps to 5.2 million when factoring in streaming and delayed viewing within a week. This series is currently the highest-rated new show on NBC for adults aged 18-49 this season. Moreover, NBC reports that a total of 21.4 million individuals have watched at least some portion of the program across all available platforms.
Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper, and Kaliko Kauahi are the main stars of the series titled St. Denis Medical. This show is created by Eric Ledgin and Justin Spitzer, with production coming from Universal Television. Ledgin serves as the showrunner and executive produces alongside Spitzer (through his Spitzer Holding Company), Simon Heuer, Ruben Fleischer, Bridget Kyle, and Vicky Luu.
St. Denis Medical, like newcomers Matlock on CBS and Universal Basic Guys on Fox, has secured a continuation for the upcoming season.
