As a dedicated gamer with countless hours spent exploring the vast open worlds of various titles, I can’t help but feel a mix of disappointment and anticipation regarding the latest update on STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
The highly anticipated video game, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, is no longer set to release on September 5, 2023. Instead, developer GSC Game World has announced that the atmospheric shooter will now come out on November 20, 2024.
STALKER 2 release date pushed back
I, Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World, understand that you may feel frustrated with the delay in our project’s release. Trust me, your patience is valued immensely by us. These extra two months will provide us with the necessary time to address and resolve more unforeseen issues, or as you refer to them, “bugs.”
“Your continuous support and comprehension never go unnoticed and greatly appreciated by us. As excited as you are, so are we to ultimately launch the game and let you play it personally.”
I’m glad to inform you that your wait for new information about the sequel won’t be prolonged for much longer. Today, we have the trailer unveiled above, and on August 12, GSC Game World in collaboration with Xbox will present a detailed Developer Deep Dive on STALKER 2.
Based on the announcement, viewers will be treated to interviews, extra clips, and a comprehensive tour of a mission in the game. This will give players a clear and detailed insight into “how the game functions and appears.”
The release of STALKER 2 has been pushed back several times. During Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the development team based in Ukraine was forced to move to Prague. Nevertheless, the game is anticipated to be available for play on Xbox Game Pass from its launch date.
