Star-Studded Cast in Talks for Epic ‘Street Fighter’ Movie Reboot!

The upcoming live-action version of Street Fighter has encountered some challenges recently, but it appears that the production is now progressing smoothly. The studio, Legendary, is pushing ahead with the remake, and they are considering bringing in well-known action stars for the lead roles.

As reported by Deadline, discussions are underway for Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and Roman Reigns to star in Legendary’s upcoming Street Fighter movie. The film, which is being directed by Kitao Sakurai (known for Bad Trip), doesn’t have a confirmed screenwriter or producer at this time. The project was initially announced by the studio in 2023, with Talk to Me’s Danny and Michael Philippou attached as directors. However, since Kitao Sakurai has taken over from the filmmaking duo, the release date has been moved from March 20, 2026. With the recent casting news, there’s hope that the Street Fighter movie might be able to reclaim its original premiere date.

In this update, it’s not specified who the actors are set to play, but according to Nexus Point News, Koji and Centineo were rumored to take on the roles of Ryu and Ken respectively. Ryu is the main character from the Street Fighter series, with Ken being his friend and occasional rival. It remains unknown who Momoa and Reigns might portray, but there’s speculation that one could be M. Bison, the primary antagonist of the video game series, with Momoa potentially playing the classic villain. As for other key characters, Chun-Li and Cammy are expected to be cast soon. Regarding Guile, popular guesses have been made about Reacher star Alan Ritchson portraying him in the upcoming live-action film, but there’s no confirmation yet.
