‘Star Trek’ Screenwriter Roberto Orci Accused of Beating, Sexually Assaulting Wife in Lawsuit

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the worlds of Star Trek and Transformers, I was deeply saddened to learn about the allegations against Roberto Orci, a writer whose work I have long admired. However, as a human being who values respect, dignity, and justice for all, I am even more disheartened by the accusations of violence and abuse made by his wife, Adele Heather Taylor.

Screenwriter Roberto Orci, known for penning various Star Trek, Transformers movies, and Hawaii Five-0 episodes, is facing allegations of physically abusing and sexually assaulting his wife, actress Adele Heather Taylor.

On Monday, Taylor filed a counter-lawsuit stating that she has been the victim of violent actions by Orci on numerous instances since March 2018. She alleges that Orci’s behavior towards her was abusive in nature, encompassing acts such as sexual assault, physical violence resulting in bruises, and verbal abuse through insults.

In one incident in May 2022, Taylor claims that Orci pursued her throughout their residence in Los Angeles, eventually pinning her down and threatening to sexually assault her. A month later, she alleges that he attacked her a second time, during which he reportedly said, “You like being raped.”

As a gamer, I found myself in a harrowing situation back in April 2020 when Orci falsely accused me of domestic abuse. He did this after I defended myself when he viciously attacked me. The police were called, and I was arrested. Later on, Orci bailed me out, but not before confessing on tape that the whole incident was a calculated move to discredit me and discourage me from reporting his persistent abuse to the authorities. This is according to the lawsuit filed against him.

In December 2022, Taylor departed Orci’s residence following another attack, as stated in the lawsuit. During this occurrence, she captured some of Orci’s threats on tape while he allegedly attempted to force her out of their house’s entrance. In the recording, according to the suit, he said, “You need to leave immediately or I’ll toss you out the door.” He also threatened, “I’ll give you a thrashing right now just so you’ll be cooperative enough for me to push you out the front door.”

After the recent event, Orci took the step of filing a restraining order against Taylor, doing so prior to her having sufficient time to secure court protection, as the complaint indicated.

In a message to THR, Orci’s lawyer, Daniel Paluch, refuted the claims, stating that his client plans to challenge these accusations in the proper setting, which is the court.

Taylor asserts in her lawsuit that she aims to make Orci answer for years of mistreatment, and for violating the contractual agreement to share his assets with her and provide financial support throughout her lifetime.

Orci’s counterclaim was made following his initial lawsuit filed in June, where he accused Taylor of physically assaulting him for numerous years. The lawsuit outlined various instances of claimed abuse, such as using a taser on him, pepper-spraying, choking him, and throwing glass, among other alleged offenses. Additionally, Orci asserted that Taylor controlled his assets, finances, and forced him to give her possessions and money.

In Orci’s lawsuit, he openly admitted to his battles with alcoholism and drug dependency, explaining that he had received therapy and rehabilitation several times in the past.

Taylor’s attorney didn’t offer any additional statements following a request from THR.
