Star Wars: Starfighter
Director Shawn Levy, known for helming Deadpool & Wolverine, stepped onto the Star Wars Celebration stage to officially reveal details about his upcoming project. The film will now be called “Star Wars: Starfighter,” and he unveiled Ryan Gosling, famous for his role in Barbie, as the leading actor.
The production for this film will start in Fall 2025, and it is set five years after the events depicted in 2019’s “Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.” Although details about Gosling’s character are not yet disclosed, he has been reported to be portraying a completely new character in this upcoming movie.
Star Wars: Starfighter will soar into theaters on May 28, 2027.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord
At the Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm revealed plans for an upcoming animated series focused on Darth Maul titled “Star Wars: Maul – Dark Lord of Shadows“. This new series is set to reintroduce the iconic horned Sith adversary.
The upcoming show is said to unfold after the incidents from the last season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” It will depict Maul regaining power and leading a fresh alliance of criminal organizations. At Star Wars Celebration, fans were given an exclusive sneak peek at the series’ animation through a private preview reel.
This new series is currently in production and will arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2026.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past
2024 saw LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy emerge as a standout Star Wars production, impressing fans by blending ideas from diverse corners of the galaxy and reintroducing cherished LEGO figures such as Jedi Bob.
Here comes a new four-part series, introducing some quirky new characters alongside Sig and Yesi. The team also welcomes a LEGO Brickheadz rendition of Ahsoka Tano, portrayed by Star Wars veteran actress Ashley Eckstein.
Moreover, a large Chewbacca figure made of bricks is also joining the journey, alongside Jaxxon T. Tumperakki – an obscure character reminiscent of Bugs Bunny. Originating from Marvel’s original Star Wars comics, Jaxxon will be voiced by Ben Schwartz, famously known for his role in Sonic the Hedgehog.

Star Wars Visions Season 3
At the recent Star Wars Celebration, another highly acclaimed animated series – “Star Wars Visions” – was announced as coming back for its third season.
This anthology series is set to present a variety of unique tales hailing from Studio Trigger, WIT Studio, Project Studio Q, Polygon Pictures, and David Production. Additionally, highly acclaimed episodes such as “The Duel” and “The Ninth Jedi” from Season 1 will receive sequels this season, with ANIMA/Kamikaze Douga handling the former, and Production IG taking care of the latter.
This season, Kinema Citrus Company will take on two roles: they will be working on a sequel for the first season’s series titled “The Village Bride”, and also introducing a fresh narrative called “Yuko’s Treasure”.
Star Wars Visions Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ on October 29, 2025.
Star Wars Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi
Apart from Season 3, “Visions” is also branching out more with the debut of “Star Wars Visions Presents”. This spinoff will open up to multiple mini-series, and the first one in this lineup is titled “Star Wars Visions – The Ninth Jedi“.
In the forthcoming episode, we will follow the narrative thread of Lah Kara, a character first introduced in “The Ninth Jedi” from Season 1 of Visions, who will also have a significant role in “Child of Hope” during Season 3.
