As a hardcore Star Wars fan who has spent countless hours navigating the galaxy far, far away since the original trilogy premiered (back when I still had to leave my house for such things), I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of excitement upon hearing that Disney+ is moving up the premiere date for “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.” The prospect of a new Star Wars adventure, especially one geared towards kids, has me feeling like a kid myself.
Disney+ is moving up its Star Wars: Skeleton Crew premiere date — at least, by a little.
The latest Star Wars drama series will now premiere Monday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m.
Initially, the show was set to debut on December 3rd. However, the rest of its eight-episode run will now air every Tuesday at 6 PM.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is known to cater more towards younger audiences compared to some of Disney+’s initial releases, as suggested by the trailer below. This upcoming series chronicles the growth of four children who stumble upon an intriguing secret on what they thought was a secure home planet. Their journey leads them into an unfamiliar and perilous galaxy, forcing them to navigate through strange landscapes and face various dangers. The quest to return home and encountering unexpected friends and foes will prove to be a bigger adventure than they could have ever imagined.
The series brings Jude Law into a galaxy far, far away as a mysterious Force user named Jod Na Nawood. The show also stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon and Nick Frost.
The episodes are overseen by a team of directors, including Jon Watts, David Lowery, the duo known as the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung. Jon Watts and Christopher Ford assume the role of lead writers and also act as executive producers, with additional contributions from Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson.
