As a seasoned Stardew Valley farmer with countless hours spent tilling, watering, and harvesting, I can confidently say that Broccoli has become one of my favorite crops to grow and sell. Its unique acquisition method adds an element of excitement and adventure, making it feel more like a treasure hunt than farming!
Regardless if you’re an experienced farmer or a newcomer, Stardew Valley offers numerous opportunities to cultivate diverse crops every season. Among these, broccoli stands out – it’s a healthy, green vegetable that players can farm for monetary gain.
Unlike many other crops, broccoli isn’t sold at Pierre’s General Store or JojaMart. Rather, you’ll have to forage for its seeds hidden across Stardew Valley. Stick with this guide to find out how to grow broccoli in the fall season.
How to Get Broccoli
The only way to get Broccoli in Stardew Valley is to grow it using its seeds. One of the easiest ways to find Broccoli Seeds is to dig up Seed Spots, which appear as special green Artifact Spots around Stardew Valley, Calico Desert, and Ginger Island.
These marks look similar to Artifact Spots, have a grass-like appearance, and produce varying types of seeds based on the time of year. Broccoli Seeds emerge from these spots between Summer Solstice (June 21) and Fall Equinox (September 20), so keep an eye out for them during late summer and early fall.
An additional trustworthy approach to acquire Broccoli Seeds involves engaging in trade with Mrs. Raccoon following the completion of certain tasks within the Raccoon questline. After her shop is accessible, you can swap five units of Moss for a single Broccoli Seed. You can collect moss from trees by striking them using an Axe, Sword, or Scythe; however, this process cannot be done during winter.
In addition, you can discover Broccoli Seeds by opening containers like crates and barrels within the Skull Cavern during late summer through early autumn. Another option is to attempt catching Golden Fishing Treasures in chests if you’ve already achieved Fishing Mastery.
How to Grow Broccoli

On Ginger Island and in your greenhouse, broccoli can be grown all year round since it’s not limited to fall planting like in other areas. Once you’ve sown the seeds, it takes approximately eight days for the broccoli to mature. After maturity, it will start yielding more broccoli every four days.
To cultivate broccoli, pick a well-prepared patch of ground from your available area and sow Broccoli Seeds that you have on hand. When your broccoli matures, utilize the Seed Maker tool to transform it into more seeds for future plantings.
Uses of Broccoli
Broccoli can bring a good return on investment when cultivated strategically. As your Farming expertise advances, you gain abilities that enhance its worth. For instance, attaining Level 5 in Tiller Profession bumps up the price of broccoli by 10%, whereas reaching Level 10 in Artisan Profession escalates the value of products made from broccoli by 40%.
You can put Broccoli in a Preserves Jar to make Pickled Broccoli or use a Keg to make Broccoli Juice for even higher profits. Both sell for much more than regular Broccoli. Broccoli also makes a popular gift for most villagers. Plus, you can also use it for crafting and tailoring.
