Starfield’s Shattered Space DLC Delivers Bethesda’s Best Expansion Yet!

As a long-time Bethesda enthusiast who has traversed countless hours across the lands of Skyrim and Oblivion, I must say that the Shattered Space DLC for Starfield has truly outdone itself. With its intricate handcrafted planet, challenging enemies, and captivating city of Dazra, it feels like a sci-fi Elder Scrolls dream come true.

2023 saw the debut of Starfield, and boy, have I been eagerly waiting for it! Finally, a year later, the much-anticipated Shattered Space DLC has dropped.

As a devoted admirer myself, I can attest that this latest DLC, brimming with a meticulously crafted new world to traverse and teeming with formidable adversaries, seems to me like Bethesda’s most impressive expansion so far.

Compared to the popular expansions such as Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim and Shivering Isles for Oblivion, Shattered Space is another expansion that Starfield enthusiasts find similar in scale.

User u/JarusinTheStars, who first posted about it on Reddit, mentioned that they have been playing for six hours now and find the recently introduced city, Dazra, to be the most impressive city across the entire Starfield universe.

In the base game, the Va’ruun faction isn’t very forthcoming with additional details; however, the DLC provides a richer picture of the Va’ruun by offering more background information.

Several participants from the discussion expressed their feelings about the latest DLC, with one Starfield enthusiast mentioning that upon arriving at Dazra, they received 5,000 credits to witness combatants dueling and being killed brutally, reminiscent of Skyrim when the Dragonborn initially enters Markarth. Other players emphasized that Dazra and its notable spots should be explored leisurely, giving off a vibe of sci-fi Elder Scrolls.

During Gamescom, Tim Lamb stated that Shattered Space would significantly shift the way gamers perceive Starfield, and the community response confirms this prediction. Todd Howard announced that annual expansions for Starfield will be rolled out in the future, each focusing on meticulously designed locations to stimulate further exploration while enhancing the overall Starfield space adventure.

Shattered Space also made some fans realize that Bethesda should try to move away from common space themes and instead transition into space fantasy. Others even mentioned that the vortex enemies are more interesting than the usual enemies found in the base game.

It appears that, much like Bethesda is recognized for engaging with its gamers, the enthusiastic response from the community to Shattered Space suggests that Starfield might be moving toward a successful trajectory.
