A year following the initial release on September 30, Starfield is set to debut its inaugural DLC expansion, titled “Shattered Space.
Bethesda recently offered a comprehensive peek into the player experience when they delve into the DLC, where the narrative primarily revolves around House Va’ruun and their home planet, Va’ruun’kai.
Creative lead Tim Lamb and his Starfield team divulged their methods behind crafting the game’s unique world, its characters, and the chilling challenges players will encounter.
In the game Starfield’s Shattered Space, you’ll be transported to the world of Va’ruun’kai, where numerous locations await you. Tim Lamb has verified that the storyline in this space adventure won’t lead players outside of Va’ruun’kai.
The majority of the adventures and missions in Shattered Space take place on a single planet, suggesting that this DLC is expansive. The narrative focuses primarily on House Va’ruun and the intricate politics among its lesser houses. Meanwhile, players can expect diverse combat and exploration opportunities within Dazra, the capital city, and the outlying regions of the planet.
Across the entire planet, you’ll encounter disturbances in gravity and tears in reality. These conditions will ramp up the intensity of battles, as the DLC is designed to promote close combat and introduce new melee enemies like the terrifying Vortex Horror. Additionally, expect a host of adversaries such as Spacers, Crimson Fleet, and numerous others to hinder your quest to unravel the secrets of the enigmatic faction.
In the wake of the capital’s collapse, various smaller houses are jostling for power. The disaster that occurred during an experiment has left the once grand city of Dazra in ruins, causing a mass exodus of refugees who find shelter under House Va’ruun.
Characters may stumble upon various non-player characters displaced from their homes, who need assistance with tasks aimed at aiding the capital and rebuilding House Va’ruun.
As a fervent supporter, I’m thrilled to announce that “Shattered Space” is set to drop on September 30, gracing both PC and Xbox Series X|S platforms! For those who splurged on the Premium edition, rejoice, for you’ll get the DLC as soon as it’s out. However, if you opted for the Standard Edition, you’ll need to pick up the DLC from your favorite store when it becomes available.
