Stella McCartney x B&B Italia Reunites for “Camaleonda” Sofa Collab

As a passionate fan of sustainable fashion and design, I am absolutely thrilled about Stella McCartney‘s latest collaboration with B&B Italia. Having followed McCartney’s groundbreaking work in the fashion industry for years, I have always admired her unwavering commitment to sustainability and natural elements. Her unique perspective on design and her respect for the environment resonates deeply with me.

In 2022, I discovered an exciting collaboration between two of my favorite brands – Italian luxury furniture maker B&B Italia and British sustainable fashion pioneer Stella McCartney. This partnership, which grew out of my admiration for Mario Bellini’s designs, was a natural fit. Previously, they had teamed up to create the “Le Bambole” armchair that I’ve been eyeing. Now, they’ve unveiled a special edition of the iconic “Camaleonda” sofa, marking their second successful collaboration.

The iconic Bellini’s design now features McCartney’s S-Wave monogram, inspired by natural elements and symbolizing the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The new “Camaleonda”, crafted from nearly entirely sustainable materials, showcases B&B Italia’s R&D innovation. Its upholstery uses OceanSafe naNea yarn, which is biodegradable, Cradle to Cradle Certified Gold and free from harmful substances. This material also performs like conventional fabrics all without shedding microplastics.

In soft shades of pink and beige, this sofa is presented with a calming and cozy vibe. With its modular structure, you can play around with the positioning of its arms, back cushions, and seats, allowing users to customize their color scheme for a unique touch.

At COLOURLIVING’s Hong Kong exhibition, the partnership will make its first appearance. On December 6, it will also be featured in an installation during the inauguration of B&B Italia Design Studio at Art Basel Miami Beach.
