Stephen King’s Carrie Is Getting A TV Series From A Horror Legend And I'm Hyped

As a die-hard fan of all things Stephen King, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming adaptation of “Carrie” by none other than Mike Flanagan! Having been left heartbroken when his take on “Revival” didn’t come to fruition, I find myself walking a fine line between hope and fear.

As TV programming for 2024 settles into its familiar rhythm, with new and returning shows igniting interest once more, there’s no denying that the future remains crucial to many fan communities. This is even more so after recent announcements about upcoming Stephen King projects, as we now know that Carrie is being developed for a streaming series adaptation.

Instead of many people adapting Stephen King’s first novel, it’s a well-known genre specialist – Mike Flanagan – who will bring Carrie White to her prom for Amazon’s Prime Video, according to Deadline’s The Dish report.

It appears that the story about telekinesis and sorrow is set to unfold in an eight-part series format, joining the ranks of two movies, a television film, and a well-known musical, each taking on the challenge of telling this very tale before it.

At this point, Carrie’s development is still quite new, so it’s best not to get too excited just yet. If you remember Mike Flanagan’s abandoned adaptation of Revival, you’d understand why I say that. For now, let’s stay tuned for any updates on this project or other potential works by Flanagan within the Stephen King universe.

More to come…
