In Season 2, more playable characters might join Marvel Rivals, but currently, NetEase Games is providing fans with a continuous flow of unique skins for the already available characters instead.
Over the weekend, you can expect to see some cosmetic items themed after Asgard, featuring characters like Loki and Storm, following the unveiling of costumes for Cloak & Dagger and Venom.
Presidential Attire and Goddess of Thunder
According to the recent announcement, Loki is set to acquire a “Presidential Outfit” skin, while Storm will receive a “Comic Book Goddess of Thunder” appearance in the game. Here’s the link to the post for more details: [Link]
Despite some viewers finding it an unusual match, Loki and Storm share a past from the comic books, particularly in the story arc where she transforms into the Goddess of Thunder.
In the animated series “What If…?”, it seems Loki manages to trick Storm into accepting the role of his queen. As a reward, she’s given a mystical hammer imbued with powers that amplify her abilities. This particular hammer isn’t always Mjolnir, but eventually, Storm comes to possess and wield this powerful weapon in Marvel’s animated series.
Additionally, it’s important to mention that these cosmetics were present even during the testing phase (beta). The fact they’ve made it to the store suggests there might be a possibility of other cosmetics developed throughout the process reappearing as well.
As a gamer, I’ve got to say, while this costume doesn’t perfectly replicate the comic book version down to every detail, it still nails the iconic elements. You can spot the winged helmet and the striking blue cape that are trademarks of the original design.
In the comic-style, the hammer’s design is identical to Storm’s, but during gameplay, it seems that the hammer is merely featured in the MVP celebration and emotes. The character performs her attacks as normal within the game.
As for Loki…
Many viewers may recognize President Loki from his brief role in the Disney+ series “Loki”, but it’s important to note that this character is inspired by a 2016 comic titled “Vote Loki”. This comic was seen as a satirical take on the United States electoral system.
The phrase ‘Make Things Right Again’ seems reminiscent of a well-known slogan from a specific world figure.
Who could be Coming in Season 2?

The first season of Marvel Rivals is set to conclude in April, leaving many enthusiasts pondering about the upcoming events in Season 2.
Word on the street is that S2 could bring an influx of mutants. It’s been speculated that a map has surfaced, allegedly depicting the X-Mansion and even the Danger Room.
It’s plausible that NetEase might prefer to include characters like Blade and Ultron in the game right away, given that there have been leaks about them. This is because fans are already familiar with these characters, which could make their introduction more impactful. In fact, it seems as though the Fantastic Four were included in the first season primarily due to the absence of Blade, who would logically be a central figure in a Dracula-themed event.
Fans must hold on for now as NetEase hasn’t disclosed much yet, but let’s keep our fingers crossed that some official news may surface within the coming weeks.
On March 14th, the deity of thunderous storms and the figure associated with presidential attire known as Loki joins the ranks of Marvel Rivals. This game can now be played on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers.
