As I sit here reminiscing about the journey of Stranger Things, it feels like I’ve traveled through not just the Upside Down but also my own personal timeline. The show premiered during my senior year of high school, and now, as a seasoned TopMob employee, I find myself reflecting on how both Hawkins and my life have evolved since then.
As a dedicated movie critic, I can’t help but feel a sense of bittersweet anticipation. The production for Season 5 of the beloved series “Stranger Things” has recently come to a close, marking a significant milestone that brings us one step closer to the end of this extraordinary era. This momentous update, which undeniably confirms our final journey into the Upside Down will grace our screens in 2025, has been met with heartwarming behind-the-scenes photos from Netflix and a sentimental message from Ross Duffer about wrapping filming. As I savor this news, tinged with nostalgia, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve shared thus far.
This nostalgic journey, filled with excitement for what’s ahead, started when the official Stranger Things account shared a post alongside Ross Duffer, the series co-creator. The post included several backstage photos (available below), showcasing the young cast members with Winona Ryder, the Duffer Brothers, the actors who play Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan, among others.

Indeed, it was the last scene featuring Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, Finn Wolfhard, and Charlie Heaton that struck a chord with me. Their radiant smiles were contagious, and the sight of the actors who portray Robin, Steve, and Mike, embracing warmly, left me quite nostalgic.
Not only does watching the kids from the show grow up alongside their older co-stars give a new perspective, but it’s astonishing to realize that these young actors are now taller than many of their peers and have matured into adults. It’s hard to grasp this idea, not just for their lives, but also for mine because I was just a kid when the first season premiered, much like them.
To put it simply, our journey with Stranger Things has been quite an exhilarating rollercoaster ride throughout the years. And when Ross Duffer mentioned wrapping things up, it was a reminder of that very fact, as he expressed this sentiment in his Instagram post.
For almost a decade, we’ve been sharing this tale that’s become more than just a show to many of our cast members. They joined us as youngsters, around ten or eleven years old, and it wasn’t merely a profession for them—it was a significant part of their childhood memories. As they grew before our eyes, they transformed into something more than actors—they became an integral part of our family. However, our affection doesn’t stop with the cast; our crew, who have stood by us since day one, hold a unique spot in our hearts as well. Their unwavering commitment and passion have served as the foundation for this incredible journey together.
It’s almost unbelievable to reflect on the fact that after a year of filming and more than two years of anticipation, Season 5 of “Stranger Things” is in the can and moving one step closer to hitting the screens.
Now, I’m eagerly anticipating its release on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, and this anticipation stirs a mix of excitement, nostalgia, melancholy, and many other emotions within me. This is due to the revelations of the Season 5 episode titles, as well as Duffer Brothers’ post accompanied by behind-the-scenes photos, which gives the impression that we’ve reached the climax of our Stranger Things journey.
