Streaming Ratings: ‘House of the Dragon’ Hits Series High

As a dedicated fan who follows every week the latest streaming trends and ratings, I couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement upon reading about HBO’s House of the Dragon reaching new heights in Nielsen’s streaming ratings. With 1.23 billion minutes viewed, it placed fourth overall for the week, just behind Netflix’s reigning champion Bridgerton and Prime Video’s The Boys.

I’m thrilled to share that I witnessed House of the Dragon on HBO reach an all-time high in Nielsen’s streaming ratings during the week of June 17-23. What a remarkable feat for this captivating series!

During the week following the season two premiere of “HotD”, the series amassed a total of 1.23 billion minutes watched on Max. This count also includes some hours of viewing for the second episode on June 23. It surpasses the previous record of 1.02 billion minutes viewed midway through its first season. Please note that these streaming numbers don’t take into account linear viewings on HBO.

As a dedicated binge-watcher with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but be impressed by the latest streaming numbers. Bridgerton continues to reign supreme with an astonishing 2.47 billion minutes watched in a week, leaving shows like House of the Dragon (1.23 billion) in its dust. I must admit, I was hooked on Bridgerton from the very first episode and the final four episodes of season three were nothing short of mesmerizing, accounting for about 60% of its total viewership.

Among the shows making their debuts on the Nielsen charts were Love Island, which started its sixth season on Peacock June 11. The show had 382 million minutes, which includes current season episodes and past seasons spread across Peacock, Hulu and Netflix. Jessica Alba’s movie Trigger Warning topped the film charts with 758 million minutes of viewing.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings calculate views solely from TV screens, excluding time spent on computers and mobile devices. These statistics represent American viewers exclusively, not international audiences. Here are the most popular streaming titles from June 17-23, 2024:
