Streaming Ratings: ‘The Bear’ Hits All-Time High With Season 3 Premiere

As a dedicated fan of streaming television and movies, I couldn’t help but be thrilled by the latest Nielsen streaming rankings for the week of June 24-30, 2024. And let me tell you, The Bear on Hulu absolutely stole the show with an impressive 1.23 billion minutes of viewing time! This is a significant increase from its previous high of 1.01 billion minutes shortly after its season two premiere last year.

In the parlance of the times, The Bear absolutely ate in the week of its third season premiere.

During the week of June 24-30, the Hulu series created by FX saw its all-time highest number of streaming minutes with a total of 1.23 billion. This surpassed its previous record of 1.01 billion minutes watched shortly after the release of its second season back in the previous year when it premiered on June 27 and went on to win an Emmy award.

The Bear was one of seven shows to score more than a billion minutes of viewing for the week, a rarity in the four-year history of Nielsen’s streaming rankings. Former Showtime series Your Honor continued its strong run, leading all titles with 1.58 billion minutes of viewing on Netflix and Paramount+. Another Showtime title, Dexter, saw its viewing rise by 84 percent from the previous week to 1.48 billion minutes.

During the past week, “The Boys” (with a total of 1.18 billion minutes), “Bridgerton” (1.14 billion minutes), “Bluey” (1.1 billion minutes), and “House of the Dragon” (1.05 billion minutes) surpassed the one-billion-minute mark. Additionally, “Grey’s Anatomy,” with 956 million minutes on Hulu and Netflix, came very close to reaching this milestone. As a result, “Game of Thrones,” which accumulated 780 million minutes, managed to reappear in the top 10 most-watched acquired series.

In the romantic comedy “A Family Affair” on Netflix, featuring Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron, an impressive 902 million minutes were watched during its debut.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings calculate views solely from TV screens and exclude time spent watching on computers or mobile devices. These statistics represent American viewers exclusively, not audiences from other nations. Here are the most popular streaming titles from June 24-30, 2024:
