The success of The Night Agent is apparently not a one-season phenomenon.
In a significant milestone, the second season debut of the Netflix thriller garnered an all-time high viewing figure during its first week. The series accumulated a total of 3.11 billion minutes watched from January 20th to 26th, according to Nielsen’s streaming ratings, surpassing its previous record of 3.06 billion minutes set in March 2023.
I was thrilled to learn that nearly three-quarters of the total viewing time for that week was dedicated to Season Two, equating to approximately 2.36 billion minutes! What a testament to its captivating content and storyline!
A week after its initial release, I found myself tuning into Apple TV+’s Severance, and I was impressed by its improved performance this week with a total of 622 million minutes watched – that’s about a 6% increase from the previous week! This makes it the highest weekly viewership for any Apple TV+ series since Ted Lasso in 2023. As a fan, I can’t wait to see where this captivating show goes next!
Last week’s top-streamed movie, “Back in Action” from Netflix, experienced a slight dip but continued to dominate with approximately 1.4 billion minutes of watch time. On Netflix, “Younger” (1.39 billion minutes) and “Bluey” (1.31 billion minutes on Disney+) also garnered over a billion viewing minutes, leading the rankings for acquired series.
Nielsen’s streaming ratings focus exclusively on viewing through TV sets, excluding minutes spent watching on computers or mobile devices. These ratings solely quantify U.S. viewership and do not account for audiences in other countries. The most popular streaming titles from January 20-26, 2025 are listed below.
