As a dedicated follower, I’m thrilled to share that filmmaker Amar Kaushik, who made his directorial debut with Stree in 2018 and is now reveling in the success of its sequel, Stree 2, has found himself at the center of attention. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, this recently released horror-comedy has sparked quite a buzz around town.

In a recent chat with India Today, Amar Kaushik expressed his thoughts about the current financial rivalry, likening its prevalence on social media as a usual occurrence. Interestingly, Amar disclosed that he took a trip to distance himself from the commotion.

The filmmaker expressed that enthusiasts often engage in heated debates on social media platforms to demonstrate their belief that a particular actor deserves credit for a movie’s box-office triumph.

Speaking about the success of Stree 2 in cinemas, Amar stated, “When a film becomes popular, it creates a buzz around the actors, influencing everyone – even the cast themselves – that they deserve recognition. That’s why I decided to take a break and distance myself from all the commotion.”

According to the director, once a movie reaches a specific earnings milestone, it can draw audiences into “online popularity contests.”

Director Amar Kaushik of Stree 2 was inquired if the dispute over credits had impacted the relationship among the actors. The filmmaker disclosed that their connection had actually strengthened, leading them to create a lighthearted video about the credit debate.

Speaking on the success of the newly-released horror-comedy, Amar attributed the movie’s triumph to everyone involved – from the actors on screen to those working diligently off-camera. He emphasized that the hardworking individuals behind the scenes are just as deserving of recognition for their contributions.

The director highlighted the significant impact of VFX work (like creating breathtaking battle scenes) and a crew member providing the voice for Sarkata (for instance, the captivating narrator in our movie), stating that the film wouldn’t have made such an impression without these contributions. He stressed that while the whole team, including the cast and crew, deserves credit for the film’s success, their level of recognition can differ.

In addition to Shraddha and Rajkummar, the film Stree 2 also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi. This movie was released on August 15th.
