Stree 2 director on replacing Neha Kakkar with Sneha Kakkar in Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer's dialogue: ‘Logon ko to samajh mein aagya’

As a lifestyle expert with a deep-rooted passion for cinema and its intricacies, I must say that Stree 2 has undeniably left an indelible mark on the contemporary Indian film landscape. The film’s unique blend of humor, suspense, and social commentary resonates deeply with my personal experiences and preferences.

In a fascinating turn of events, the movie Stree, featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, is creating quite a stir at the box office. Recently, director Amar Kaushik disclosed that there was a modification requested by the CBFC for one specific joke scene in the film. He explained, ‘It’s clear now.’ In the original version, a joke about Neha Kakkar was included, but the CBFC asked for a change, replacing ‘Neha Kakkar’ with ‘Sneha Kakkar’ in that particular scene.

During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the members of the CBFC mentioned that some jokes might be considered offensive. Now, director Amar Kaushik has expressed, “We realized that such jokes could be inappropriate. They had a valid point, so we didn’t ask them to allow us to keep the dialogue. Regardless, the audience will understand.”

He added that this occasion, the CBFC members showed understanding and reasonableness. They heard their viewpoint and acknowledged that omitting some dialogues could affect the storyline. In contrast to his expectations, they opted not to censor certain questionable lines, which took the filmmaker by surprise as he thought many would be removed instead.

In essence, the director made clear that the jokes weren’t merely added for laughs; they were organically incorporated into the script, much like casual comments shared among friends. Amar, along with writer Niren Bhatt, focused on capturing genuine humor in their work, striving to mirror real-life experiences rather than forcing artificial jokes. In fact, Amar expressed his aversion towards the term ‘gag,’ likening it to an unpleasant thing and preferring to steer clear of it altogether.

As a devoted admirer, I recently learned from Abhishek Banerjee’s interview with The Indian Express that he, as Jana in the Maddock supernatural universe, has given some insights about Stree 3. He shared that while the development process for Stree 3 might take some time, it won’t be as extensive as it was for Stree 2.

Based on the success of the most recent movie, he confidently stated that Stree 3 won’t require another six years to finish. Moreover, he disclosed that portions of the script have already been drafted and expressed his excitement to get back on set for what appears to be an epic saga of grand proportions.
