As a dedicated follower and an ardent admirer of the illustrious career of Abhishek Banerjee, I find his unwavering devotion to Amitabh Bachchan truly inspiring. His journey from being teased as “Deewar ka Amitabh” during college days to sharing the screen with the legendary actor in Section 84 is a testament to his passion and perseverance.
Known primarily for his roles in Stree series, Paatal Lok, and Bhediya, the versatile figure Abhishek Banerjee has gained widespread recognition lately. In the current scene, Abhishek is recognized as a common name, especially after appearing in Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s film, Stree 2 this month. This talented individual has openly expressed his deep-rooted admiration for Amitabh Bachchan. The exciting news is that he will be collaborating with his idol in the upcoming project, Section 84. Reminiscing about his college days, Abhishek shared that his teachers used to call him “Amitabh from Deewar” due to his strong resemblance to the legendary actor.
In a fresh chat with Sucharita Tyagi on her YouTube channel, Abhishek Banerjee highlighted his longtime admiration for Amitabh Bachchan, mentioning that it was the star who inspired him to join college.
Abhishek mentioned that many individuals label themselves as admirers of Mr. Bachchan, but the casting director-actor identified himself as “the original Bachchan fan.” This is the reason he enrolled in Stree 2, he further explained.
In his mannerisms, I resembled him. Teachers often referred to me as the Amitabh from the movie Deewar. (He continued with this likeness)
Previously, during an interview with PTI, Abhishek Banerjee mentioned that he captured Amitabh Bachchan’s arrival at the sets of Section 84. He explained that he chose to record this moment because he didn’t want to forget it for as long as he lives. Furthermore, the actor playing Paatal Lok expressed that Big B’s walk transported him back to a nostalgic period in Bachchan’s prime years.
Last year, he posted, “I learned countless valuable life lessons in just a few short days working with you, sir…and now I can confidently claim that I’ve attended an acting school.”
Other than Street 2, Abhishek Banerjee was also a part of the film Vedaa, which starred John Abraham. These two movies made their debut on August 15, coinciding with this year’s Independence Day celebration.
