Stree 2's Rajkummar Rao recalls mom's reaction when he informed about 'bu*t-naked scene' in LSD; 'She was very sweet and said...'

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the nuances of Hollywood and Bollywood, I must say that Rajkummar Rao is truly an inspiration. His journey from his debut in Love Sex Aur Dhokha to his recent role in Stree 2 showcases his fearless approach to acting and his unwavering commitment to his craft.

Rajkummar Rao, who appeared in Stree 2 recently, has been working in Hindi cinema for over a decade. His first role was in Dibakar Banerjee’s anthology film, Love Sex Aur Dhokha, released in 2010. Viewers of LSD will recall that Rajkummar performed an explicit scene in his debut film. More recently, Rajkummar spoke about telling his parents about the nude scene in Banerjee’s movie and shared that his late mother was supportive, encouraging him to go ahead with it.

In a recent conversation with India Today, actor Rajkummar Rao shared that his mother, Kamlesh Yadav, was comfortable with him enacting the scene from Love Sex Aur Dhokha.

According to Rao, he shared the news with his parents, and his mother responded warmly. She said, “If this is something related to your work as an actor, or if you truly believe it’s crucial, then by all means, proceed.”

Was there anything absolutely crucial for the actor from Stree 2 that he considered during the early stages of his career, and have his views on those points shifted over time?

Rajkummar Rao stated that he isn’t hesitant to step outside his usual range for a role if it’s necessary, as long as the character is convincing enough. Recalling an instance from the movie LSD, the actor mentioned that one scene wasn’t approved by the Censor Board initially and had to be slightly blurred during the film’s release.

The actor from Love Sex Aur Dhokha expressed that although he felt “afraid,” given it was a significant opportunity, he chose not to decline the role for comfort’s sake. Moreover, he accepted the part with the understanding that such an opportunity might not present itself again.

Rajkummar Rao mentioned that for someone to persuade him about a role or scene, they need to convince him that the movie simply cannot be made without it.

In the movie “Love, Sex, and Dirty Tricks,” Rao played a role within the segment called “Sex.” This particular storyline was part of the anthology drama film that was shot using found footage and also featured actress Nusshrat Bharuccha. The production company behind this film was Balaji Telefilms’ ALT Entertainment, led by Ekta Kapoor.
