Street Fighter 6 Season 2 DLC Characters Get New Outfits

New Street Fighter 6 costumes for characters like M. Bison, Terry, Mai, and Elena from the Season 2 DLC are set to arrive starting June 5. Each character will receive a third outfit in total.

The designs are extremely memorable, which is a good thing. Capcom opted for bold, stylish costumes featuring an NBA-inspired Terry, a sleek M. Bison, a trendy Mai, and a vibrant Elena.

The second season has extended much further than anticipated by both fans and Capcom, with Elena, the closing character for Year 2, set to debut on June 5. Simultaneously, the Switch version of SF6 will be released. Approximately four months have passed since the last character, Mai Shiranui, was introduced.

In December 2023, we saw the initial releases of uniform set number 3 for our main team. Fast forward to May 2024, and characters like Rashid, A.K.I, Ed, and Akuma each received their third outfits as part of the first season of DLC. It wasn’t until over a year later, after the conclusion of season 2, that additional costumes were made available.

Regarding Street Fighter 6, although it’s selling well and enjoys significant popularity, particularly in Japan, there’s been a wave of criticism from fans due to the perceived scarcity of post-launch content.

The frequency at which new outfits are released leaves much to be desired. Additionally, having only four characters per season makes the anticipation for new DLC even more agonizing. Furthermore, SF6’s Fighting Pass, similar to a battle pass, offers minimal significant rewards to players who don’t devote most of their time customizing their avatars.

Developers are now working on resolving some problems and have pledged to enhance the appeal of Fighting Passes, starting from the third year. Additionally, costumes number 4 for multiple characters are scheduled for release this summer, with even more in the pipeline for future updates.

The fresh Elena update will additionally introduce additional aesthetic elements, such as revamped visuals for the online match-up screen, along with a few extra features to spice things up, in addition to the new outfits.

Keep in mind that the Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition, which is coming to the yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2, will not have any of the costumes included.
