Stüssy To Open New Flagship Store in New York City

As a longtime fan and connoisseur of streetwear, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia and excitement upon hearing about Stüssy’s impending return to New York City‘s bustling Nolita neighborhood. Having grown up in the SoCal scene that birthed this iconic brand, I remember the thrill of scoring my first Stüssy tee from a local surf shop, its vibrant graphics and subtle subversions of mainstream culture embodying the spirit of rebellion and individuality that defined my teenage years.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as I eagerly anticipate the grand opening of Stüssy’s first permanent flagship store right here in the heart of New York City’s trendy Nolita neighborhood. The fashion world buzzes with this news!

After achieving success with its queue-friendly pop-up store in May, this iconic Southern California streetwear brand is planning to occupy a 5,600 square-foot retail space at 50 Prince Street, which was previously used by McNally Jackson bookstore, based on permits acquired for the location.

At the close of last year, the company shut down its previous New York iconic store situated on 176 Spring Street in SoHo. It is worth mentioning that this location, initially owned by Union, has since been transformed into a retail outlet for Tremaine Emory’s Denim Tears brand.

Stüssy is setting up shop near several renowned streetwear giants such as Aimé Leon Dore, Kith, and Noah within the city. This will be their third store opening of the year, following the unveiling of new flagship stores in Chengdu and Milan.

Back in 1991, I found myself right smack in the heart of New York City, where the iconic Stüssy brand set up its very first store – a significant milestone for this now 40-year-old label. While we’re all eagerly waiting for the grand opening of their latest Manhattan shop, keep your eyes peeled on TopMob for updates about this exciting new flagship!
