With the latest RPC 2.0 service of the Sui Network’s Layer 1 blockchain, Space and Time’s development team can now access on-chain data more quickly, effortlessly, and securely.
Sui Network unveils a strategic collaboration with Space and Time, the trusted compute platform for AI and blockchain, to incorporate its innovative GraphQL-driven service, Sui RPC 2.0. Space and Time will serve as Sui Network’s primary data warehouse, allowing developers to seamlessly access on-chain Sui data via Sui RPC 2.0’s user-friendly integration.
The core research team behind Facebook’s Libra and Diem projects, who have built Sui, have seen impressive growth with this crypto project. Sui has increased by more than 200% since the beginning of the year. This significant progression has propelled Sui into the ranks of the top 60 largest crypto projects in terms of market capitalization according to Coingecko’s data.
Starting in January of this year, Sui introduced its new RPC 2.0 service in beta version, which is an upgraded RPC (Remote Procedure Call) system for the network. This innovation is built using GraphQL, a versatile open-source language for data querying and manipulation. The primary objective of this advanced RPC is to enable developers to execute more intricate data queries, shifting from the traditional read-only functionality found in most current RPC services.
“Evan Cheng, CEO of Mysten Labs, which builds Sui Network, expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with Space and Time to incorporate Sui’s newest GraphQL-RPC into their platform. This integration will allow users to effortlessly engage with Sui’s data.”
Through this broadened partnership, we demonstrate our dedication to advancing blockchain technology and bringing practical solutions to life that cater to our valued users.
The new RPC service will replace the original Sui RPC, streamlining and securing interactions between users, apps and blockchains within the Sui ecosystem. With the integration of Sui’s RPC 2.0 on SxT, developers will have more secure and more efficient ways to retrieve and interact with on-chain Sui data. This provides them with unlimited capabilities to create innovative and complex apps.
The new RPC makeover intends to tackle issues with existing RPCs, including perilous transaction serialization interfaces and data repositories on main nodes. Sui’s GraphQL-style RPC system will offer more productive query methods, enabling data indexers to retrieve information directly from the stateless RPC, which independently accesses its own database.
In simpler terms, Space and Time’s blockchain indexing services obtain real-time data from Sui and store it safely using zero-knowledge technology. After securing the data, a complete replica of the Sui blockchain is saved in relational databases within Space and Time’s data warehouse.
“Scott Dykestra, CTO and Co-founder of Space and Time, expressed his excitement as we’ve recently implemented a robust data warehouse, keeping Sui’s data up-to-date in real time. Additionally, we’re pleased to introduce the latest version of RPC nodes for the Sui community, enhancing developers’ ability to access on-chain transactions with greater ease.”
Using Sui’s RPC 2.0, developers have the ability to interact directly with SxT and retrieve or execute data. They can then merge this information with external data, verify it through Zero-Knowledge proofs, and ultimately return the outcomes to their smart contracts on the Sui platform.
