Suits LA Shocker: Daniel Hardman’s Return Spells Trouble in the City of Angels!

Following the return of Gabriel Macht’s iconic character Harvey Specter in the flashback storyline of Suits LA, another familiar face from the original series has been announced for the NBC spinoff. That’s right, David Costabile, who masterfully portrayed Daniel Hardman, is set to reappear on our screens sometime next in the 2025 TV schedule. Given Hardman’s shady past, it’s tough not to anticipate more trouble brewing when he returns to the scene.

According to Variety’s latest report, Hardman’s return to the show hasn’t revealed exact details yet, but we do know he’ll appear in a future episode as a guest star. It remains uncertain whether this will be during the flashbacks set in 2010 or in the present day timeline. Costabile is the third ‘Suits’ actor joining the cast of ‘Suits LA’, with Rick Hoffman also confirmed to reprise his role as Louis Litt for a separate episode from the two episodes previously announced for Gabriel Macht.

One Unique Action the “Suits: LA” Team Undertook for Enrico Colantoni, which was unprecedented in his decades-long career on shows like “Just Shoot Me!” and “Veronica Mars”.

Or

One Exceptional Move made by the “Suits: LA” crew specifically for Enrico Colantoni that had never occurred during his extensive stints on series such as “Just Shoot Me!” or “Veronica Mars”.

Patton Oswalt shared an insightful revelation about the significant difference between him and his character in “Suits” (LA self), and I found his unique concept for rejoining the series particularly appealing.

In Season 2 of Suits, we were introduced to Daniel Hardman, a partner at Pearson Hardman, founded with Jessica Pearson, whom he had mentored. However, it was later revealed that he was embezzling funds from clients to finance an affair instead of using the money for his wife’s cancer treatments as he claimed. This led to his forced resignation. After his wife’s passing, he returned to the firm with ambitions to seize full control. His plot was thwarted again, but he remained a recurring adversary in Seasons 4, 5, and 8.

Previously mentioned, the series Suits LA has been exploring the life of Stephen Amell’s character, Ted Black, back in 2010 when he served as a federal prosecutor in New York. This is where Harvey Specter comes into play in “Batman Returns,” as he alerted Ted that someone from the Pellegrini crime organization was present in his office. Despite some inconsistencies in Suits about when Daniel Hardman left Pearson Hardman (with conflicting information suggesting it was in 2007 and later flashbacks showing him still there in 2009), I have a feeling that David Costabile’s character had already departed by the time Harvey met up with Ted.

It’s difficult for me to conceive that Daniel Hardman will play a role in the current storyline of Suits LA, given that he is not an entertainment lawyer like Harvey and Louis, and primarily practices corporate law. It seems unlikely that he would be involved in the prosecution of Ted’s client, Lester Thompson, who has been charged with murder. For now, I am inclined to think that we will see Hardman in 2010, and his involvement may not lead to a positive outcome.

I’ve always found it satisfying to watch Daniel Hardman’s arrogant expression change to one of defeat on Suits, and I’m looking forward to more of that in Suits LA. In the meantime, catch up on the spinoff’s first four episodes by subscribing to Peacock, a service that also allows you to revisit Suits.
