Suits LA is about to be lit(t).
Actor Rick Hoffman, known for his portrayal of Louis Litt in the original Suits series, will return to his character for an episode on the NBC spinoff. The Hollywood Reporter reports that there’s also a possibility he might appear in additional episodes if the show, Suits LA, gets renewed for another season.
LA Suits centers around Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a reborn lawyer from New York who now defends top-tier clients in Los Angeles. But when his firm hits rock bottom, he’s forced to take on a role he despised all along to stay afloat. The spinoff, with two episodes already aired, includes Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg as part of the cast.
Hoffman isn’t alone in rejoining the cast for the spinoff. It was previously announced that Gabriel Macht, who plays Harvey Specter, would also be coming back. The creator of both projects, Aaron Korsh, mentioned at the Los Angeles premiere last month that having Macht return made sense because “Ted and Harvey were both prosecutors in New York.
Korsh mentioned that he aimed for a natural process when inviting former “Suits” cast members back, preferring not to merely assemble a procession of old characters. While he’d be delighted to have them all appear, he doesn’t want them to follow each other too closely as it could potentially diminish the original and new shows. Instead, we’ll simply wait and see how things unfold.
Although the main cast of Suits who originally starred have not yet been officially confirmed to reappear, many fans eagerly anticipate the return of some beloved characters such as Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres.
Deadline was first to report the news of Hoffman’s return.
