Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan featured in Yash Chopra’s 1993 film titled Darr. Despite the movie being a massive hit, it sparked a frosty relationship between the two actors. However, the tension was resolved when SRK attended the success celebration of Gadar 2. Later on, expressing his wish to collaborate with him again, Deol has now commented that they have moved past their differences.
During a chat with News 18, Sunny Deol was inquired if he dreams of teaming up with another big-name actor for a joint movie project. To this question, the actor expressed that there are numerous talented actors out there, and he’d be happy to work with any of them. He also mentioned his long-standing wish to collaborate again with Shah Rukh Khan, following their work together in Darr, pondering over what exciting possibilities they might create together, all these years later.
When queried about their recent disagreement, the Jaat actor responded that they often have disputes but eventually manage to reconcile. Subsequently, he was questioned if his feelings towards the King actor or the late filmmaker Yash Chopra remain unresolved.
Deol expressed, “I wasn’t particularly angry. What transpired then is in the past. Everyone now understands what was correct and what was incorrect, so there’s no point in rehashing old events. How can we progress if we keep going over it?
Previously, during an interview with Filmfare, Deol once referred to Darr as a “regrettable mistake” and described the filmmaking process as “the most challenging ordeal” of his career. In the same conversation, he recalled, “I had grown tired of the manipulations and deceit. One day in Switzerland, I was so enraged that when I shoved my hands into my pockets, I accidentally tore the jeans I was wearing.
He further stated that he has no intention of collaborating with Chopra again. In his opinion, the renowned director failed to keep his promise and acted in a way that went against his trust in him.
Right now, Sunny Deol is delighting in the premiere of his action-packed spectacle titled Jaat. This production, led by Gopichand Malineni, showcases Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar, Ramya Krishnan, and others in prominent roles.
