As an ardent admirer, I found myself engrossed in the shared stage with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol at an engaging event in Mumbai on December 9. The atmosphere was electric as we delved into the shifting dynamics of our beloved industry. We reminisced about Bollywood’s transformation throughout the past decades, witnessing firsthand the incredible evolution it has undergone.

Sunny remarked that as the nation undergoes a shift towards commercialization and corporate influence, whoever occupies the position of power, “abuses it,” in his opinion, being the primary cause for the decline in originality within the Hindi film industry.

Speaking passionately about his perspective, I, a die-hard fan, find myself compelled to echo the words of the esteemed Poster Boys actor: “When the suits stormed in, they lacked the creative spark. They were strangers to cinema’s intricate nuances, and as a result, the flavor started shifting, the art of cinema began transforming.” He acknowledged this change, admitting that it has indeed tasted success.

Today, there isn’t any cinema as deeply ingrained in our culture as before, according to the actor. He also mentioned that many of the songs currently popular are actually from previous eras, which he expressed by saying “You don’t remember today’s songs.” He acknowledged that this shift is happening globally and it’s something we all must adapt to, since it seems to be an inevitable part of how the world is evolving.

Sunny first entered the film industry back in 1983 with the movie “Betaab.” Since then, he’s consistently been a part of it. However, with the release of Anil Sharma’s 2023 action film “Gadar 2,” Sunny once again asserted his status as the original industry leader in entertainment.

Currently, in his professional life, he’s deeply involved with the film “Lahore 1947” starring Preity Zinta. Later, you’ll find him appearing in the movie “Ramayana Part 1” led by Ranbir Kapoor, followed by “Jaat” and a sequel to “Border”, titled “Border 2”.
