Sunny Deol's Singh Saab The Great co-star Urvashi Rautela claims 38-year age gap between them to be 'biggest in Bollywood': 'I was younger than his sons’

As a dedicated follower and admirer of Bollywood, I have been captivated by the extraordinary journey of Urvashi Rautela since her debut in 2013 with Singh Saab The Great. Her unique career path, marked by roles opposite significantly older actors, is both intriguing and inspiring.

Urvashi Rautela first appeared on the big screen in 2013 alongside Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great. Remarkably, there was a 38-year age difference between them, which she humorously pointed out by stating that she was actually younger than his sons. This significant age gap made headlines as one of the largest in Bollywood, and her debut film not only left an impression but also established an unusual starting point for her acting career.

In a chat with iDiva, Urvashi Rautela expressed her views on acting alongside actors who are older than her. She pondered over how such roles give her the opportunity to collaborate with established stars who have massive fan bases. Recalling her work with Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great, she mentioned that their age gap of 38 years might be one of the biggest ever seen in Bollywood.

The actress, who is younger than Deol’s adult sons, expressed her agreement with casting decisions that serve the story effectively. She stated, “Apparently, this is one of the largest age differences ever seen in Bollywood (if I’m not mistaken). We had a 38-year difference between us. I was even younger than his sons. However, if the director believes there are no issues, then it’s acceptable.

In a playful manner, Urvashi shared that, although dating older men isn’t an option for her personally, professionally she has quite the opposite story. As she looks forward to her next venture, she’s thrilled about breaking new ground, surpassing what she’s already achieved. Her upcoming movie is a major South Indian production, where she shares screen time with the revered Nandamuri Balakrishna, who’s either in his 60s or 70s. The significant age gap between them could potentially create a cinematic milestone in India’s film industry.

She continued to share her thoughts about the role of age gaps in films, pointing out that bigger differences can enhance a movie’s quality. With veteran actors come large fanbases, which she believes greatly enhances a film’s popularity. Yet, while she’s comfortable with such age disparities on screen, she doesn’t see it as an option for her personal relationships.

In this movie, NBK 109 boasts a strong cast including Bobby Deol, Ravi Kishen, Dulquer Salmaan, Prakash Raj, and Payal Rajput, along with Urvashi Rautela and Nandamuri Balakrishna. According to reports, Bobby Deol is set to play the villain in the film.
