As a dedicated Supreme fan, I’m always on the lookout for the latest news and drops from my favorite streetwear brand. This week has been absolutely exhilarating! First, we learned that luxury goods giant EssilorLuxottica is buying Supreme from VF Corp for an impressive $1.5B USD. And just two days later, Supreme dropped a new skate video on Instagram, teasing the rumored opening of a new flagship store in Miami.
As a long-time fan of Supreme and the streetwear scene, I must say that this week has been nothing short of exhilarating for me. Just when we all thought the news of VF Corp selling Supreme to eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica for an impressive $1.5B USD was the biggest thing happening, Supreme surprised us once again. Within mere hours of the announcement, they dropped a new skate video and teased another store opening in Miami. It’s mind-blowing how they manage to keep pushing the envelope and stay ahead of the curve in this dynamic industry. Their ability to constantly innovate while maintaining their unique identity is truly inspiring. This rollercoaster week has only reaffirmed my admiration for Supreme and left me eagerly anticipating what they’ll do next.
A brief Instagram video was shared by the brand, captured by William Strobeck and featuring team members Sean Pablo, Seven Strong, and Troy Gipson skating at Miami’s renowned Lot 11 skatepark. Accompanying the footage was the iconic 1972 song “We Did It” by Syl Johnson. While this video doesn’t necessarily indicate that Supreme is opening a flagship store in Miami, it follows a similar pattern as their Milan store announcement in May, which came before a skate clip as well.
In addition to managing sales and retail outlets, Supreme has kept occupied during the summer season by launching its Summer 2024 T-shirt series and teaming up with Vans for three new Sid colorways. Furthermore, they have collaborated with Ducati on a high-temperature project.
I watched the video up top, keep an eye on this space for updates regarding a possible new Supreme store in Miami. When more information comes my way, you’ll be the first to know.
