Swatch x OMEGA Return With New Mission to EarthPhase MoonSwatch

As a seasoned space-themed watch enthusiast, I can confidently say that the new Swatch x OMEGA MoonSwatch Mission to EarthPhase has me absolutely moonstruck! This isn’t just a timepiece – it’s a celestial art piece that brings together the beauty of our solar system and the intrigue of timekeeping.

For some time now, neither Swatch nor OMEGA have unveiled a new MoonSwatch. Here’s an introduction to our latest creation: The EarthPhase Mission, a Speedmaster-inspired chronograph without limitations, crafted using a lightweight Bioceramic material in a gray tone.

Compared to the previous MoonSwatch – Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase, the new model shares many characteristics but its color scheme is more akin to the Moonshine versions from 2023. What sets it apart from earlier models are the intricate details on its gray dial.

Instead of showing the 10 o’clock sub counter, it has been creatively transformed into an Earth phase display. The shape is curved like a crescent moon, and within this crescent, you’ll find a vibrant Earth design as if seen from the Moon itself. The lower part of the crescent is given a textured appearance similar to the Moon’s surface, making this concept complete.

On our Earth and the Moon, they both undergo their respective phases approximately every 29.5 days. However, unlike us where a full moon signifies a completed phase, someone on the Moon would observe an “unseen Earth” or “new Earth,” because their phase sequences run opposite to ours. This is why the “EarthPhase” feature appears to move in reverse compared to standard moon phases as seen from our perspective on Earth.

Starting from November 2, 2024, you can find and purchase the Mission to EarthPhase MoonSwatch, priced at $325 USD, in selected Swatch stores globally. For additional details, visit Swatch’s official website.
