As a lifelong Potterhead who’s been eagerly awaiting this magical moment since last September, I can hardly contain my excitement! The “Back to Hogwarts” marathon on SYFY is like Christmas, birthday, and New Year’s Eve rolled into one for us Muggles. With the Hogwarts Express leaving the station a day early this year, it feels as if time has warped, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Everyone, whether they are wizards or not, understand that the Hogwarts Express departs precisely from Platform Nine and Three Quarters at King’s Cross Station at 11 am on September 1. It’s the primary means for budding magic-users to get to Europe’s top school of witchcraft and wizardry (though students from Beauxbatons or Durmstrang might prefer other methods).
This year, SYFY is jumping on the magical train a day early, starting its “Back to Hogwarts” marathon a day earlier than usual. The eight Harry Potter movies will be shown over the Labor Day 2024 weekend. The fun begins tomorrow morning – Saturday, August 31 – with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and concludes on Monday, September 2 evening with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Additionally, the third Fantastic Beasts movie, The Secrets of Dumbledore, will also be broadcast as part of this marathon.
