Singer and actor SZA, known for her hits like “Black Panther” and “One Of Them Days”, is set to delve deeper into acting with a serious commitment. Given her successful collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on the song “All the Stars” from the 2018 Marvel film, it’s plausible that she might soon land her desired acting role in the Marvel universe. Remarkably, she has already portrayed a superhero, albeit for a State Farm advertisement.
During an interview with Jennifer Hudson on her own talk show, SZA expressed her desire to portray the backstory of Ororo Munroe, famously known as Storm in comic books. This role was previously played by Halle Berry and more recently by Alexandra Shipp. Frankly, we think SZA could do a fantastic job with this character – though Cynthia Erivo is also interested.
When discussing the idea of a thriller with a touch of violence, Hudson, who is both an actress and a singer, imagined A$AP Rocky in a superhero role. Excitedly, A$AP Rocky expressed his interest by saying, “I’d really enjoy being a superhero!
It occurred to me that just as Storm has a backstory set in a distant, jungle-like realm, it would be fascinating to have my own origin tale. I’d relish the opportunity to explore such a narrative and showcase my versatility.

SZA’s Dad Is A Total Nerd And Got Her Into Comic Books As A Kid
SZA often refers to Silver Surfer as one of her favorite superheroes, a passion she developed from her father’s deep affection for comic books. “My dad has a collection of first-edition comics, including Thor and Silver Surfer comics, stored in the basement. As a result, I grew up being a big fan of Marvel and DC.
Could someone kindly ask her father to transfer those comics to a safer place right away? It seems she’s accidentally revealed his secret hideout!
Indeed, SZA isn’t the sole individual aspiring to embody the legendary superhero. Lately, Cynthia Erivo and Storm Reid have expressed a desire for the role, while Yetide Badaki from “American Gods” has also voiced interest in donning Storm’s super-costume. Moreover, there are whispers that Halle Berry might return to portray her once again. Ultimately, it remains to be seen who will bring this generation’s iteration of Storm to life.
