As a gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in the virtual worlds of RPGs, I can say that diving into SZA’s “SOS Deluxe: LANA” is like leveling up to an epic boss fight. The original album was already a masterpiece, and this deluxe edition feels like an expansion pack that unlocks new quests, hidden treasures, and even a few unexpected cameos (Kendrick Lamar, anyone?).
At long last arrives the moment we’ve all anticipated since the unveiling of SZA’s SOS album – often referred to as more of SOS – it’s here! Approximately two years following the album’s initial release, SZA has broadened the mystical realm she created on the original album in a revamped version titled SOS Deluxe: LANA.
A tribute to her birth name Solana, the enhanced edition of her December 2022 album is now available, slightly later than originally planned. Originally set to drop on Friday, December 20th at midnight Eastern Standard Time, the artist decided to push it back a bit, with no exact time confirmed earlier today. However, it was eventually released around 3 p.m. EST.
She mentioned on her Instagram story that she required just a bit longer (a few hours) for the new mixes to distribute consistently across all platforms, as these mixes play a significant role.
Despite a brief wait, upon initial observation, the project is indeed worth it, as it expands the original SOS tracklist by an impressive 15 songs! The newly released song by SZA, titled “Drive,” appears as track 13, while “Saturn” from this year is located at number 15. Other new additions include “What Do I Do,” “30 For 30” featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Scorsese Baby Daddy,” “Love Me 4 Me,” and “Crybaby.” You can find the complete list of these new tracks below.
