She mentioned that occasionally she prefers to step into a supporting position when she’s confident she can perform her duties effectively without it being a trivial part, and yet, she doesn’t feel the burden of having to be the main star.
The actress from Khel Khel Mein reminisced that during the launch of Dunki, she felt comfortable since director Rajkumar Hirani and lead actor Shah Rukh Khan alleviated the tension by taking charge. This allowed her to unwind as they handled the stress and organized things beforehand. Conversely, she experiences more pressure when she takes the lead in managing aspects prior to release.
Additionally, she found it rewarding to collaborate with King Khan, and shared that he carries an aura of stardom even beyond the camera and is knowledgeable as an individual. The film Dunki, a comedy-drama launched on December 21, 2023, revolved around the clandestine method of immigration called ‘donkey flight,’ exploring themes such as love, heartache, camaraderie, and more. It amassed an impressive box office total of 425 crores worldwide.
In terms of her professional life, Taapsee Pannu recently appeared in Khel Khel Mein alongside Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, herself, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. Unfortunately, the movie didn’t fare well at the box office, earning approximately Rs 57 crore in theaters. Upcoming projects for Taapsee include Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan, where she will act alongside Pratik Gandhi and Prateik Babbar.
