As a seasoned gamer and a connoisseur of all things fashionable, I must say that the opening of Lemaire’s flagship store in Tokyo has sent my virtual avatar into a whirlwind of excitement! Having traversed countless digital landscapes in search of the latest trends, I can confidently say that this new physical space is a breath of fresh air.
Lemaire has made its way to Japan, debuting its first flagship store in Tokyo. Tucked away within a refurbished 1960s private residence boasting an adjoining zen garden, this French fashion label now occupies a 170-square-meter space for its boutique. Found in the Ebisu neighborhood of Shibuya, this renovated Japanese home marks Lemaire’s third flagship store, following those in Paris and Seoul.
Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran revealed their rationale behind selecting the location, stating, “We opted for this residence to emphasize the harmonious relationship between our collections and a homely ambiance. Our items are tailored for daily use and inspired by the parable of an ideally proportioned home serving as a cozy refuge.” In the heart of Tokyo’s dynamic cityscape, Lemaire extends an invitation to their abode, offering a serene sanctuary.
A two-story building boasts a traditional Japanese plaster finish, complemented by graceful Sudare bamboo blinds and distinctive fixtures designed by Lemaire. The ground floor living room showcases a classic Freud couch, three aged kilim rugs, plus handwoven wadded panels or abac mats. Local residents can now explore the Japanese flagship store in Ebisu, Tokyo.
