The movie “Tangled” is now set to get a live-action adaptation, according to Disney. This project is currently in development at the studio, with Michael Gracey, who previously directed “The Greatest Showman”, taking the helm for this live-action version. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, known for her work on Netflix’s humorous dark comedy “Do Revenge” and other projects like “Thor: Love and Thunder” and the reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer”, is writing the script for this new take on Tangled.
Disney is revamping the 2010 animated feature “Tangled,” which was based on the Grimm brothers’ fairy tale about Rapunzel, the princess known for her enchanted long hair. The movie, a hit both musically and in animation, featured Mandy Moore as the voice of Rapunzel. In the story, she was eventually saved from her isolated tower by the rogue Flynn Rider. The film earned $592 million USD worldwide and boasted Oscar-nominated songs like “When Will My Life Begin.” Due to its popularity, Disney produced spin-offs such as the 2012 short film “Tangled Ever After” and the 2017 TV series “Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure.
