Taron Egerton Wants ‘Kingsman 3’ to Leave Eggsy “Out in the Cold”

As a devoted fan of the Kingsman series, I must say that Taron Egerton‘s vision for Eggsy’s future is both intriguing and chilling. His desire to see Eggsy face the harsh reality of being excommunicated and left in isolation resonates deeply with the classic spy genre tropes we all love. If indeed ‘Kingsman: The Blue Blood’ materializes, I eagerly anticipate the emotional rollercoaster that Eggy might embark on, leaving his comfortable married life behind to face the bitter taste of loneliness and the cost of being a Kingsman agent.

Actor Taron Egerton, famous for his role in Kingsman, has shared his ideal scenario for a potential third film, known as Kingsman: The Blue Blood, which might not bode well for Eggsy’s character. In an exclusive interview with Matt Mahler from MovieWeb, Egerton expressed that if this were the end of the action franchise, he would like to see Eggsy confront one of the most challenging situations a spy can experience – being disowned and left in isolation.

In my opinion, when discussing possibilities with Matthew [Vaughn], I’ve come to prefer a narrative where Eggsy experiences the solitude inherent in being a spy. I’d like to depict him enduring the harshness of the cold, rather than enjoying too much comfort. I also feel that there’s an interesting contrast between being happily married and feeling isolated, so perhaps we could explore Eggsy in a more isolating environment.

It’s clear that Vaughn will let Egerton pursue his unconventional ideas for Eggsy, even if they fall outside the usual scope of his job responsibilities. And if he does write a third movie, it seems he wants to make life extremely challenging for Eggsy. However, whether this ever comes to fruition remains uncertain. There’s an alluring mystery in Egerton’s plans, as the trope of the solitary spy finding their own path is a common one in the genre. This theme was subtly explored in the sequel, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” where Eggsy and Merlin seek aid from their American counterparts, The Statesman, after the Kingsman organization is destroyed. But with a potential third film, it appears Egerton intends to push Eggsy to his absolute limits.

As Far as We Know, ‘Kingsman 3’ Is Happening

2017 saw the release of “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” leaving fans eager for more escapades featuring Eggsy (played by Taron Egerton) and Harry Hart (Colin Firth). Currently, details about “Kingsman 3” are under wraps. However, as recently shared by writer-director Matthew Vaughn with Entertainment Weekly in October 2023, the next installment is indeed on track to become a reality.

We need to move forward with Kingsman 3 as I was just kidding about Colin Firth becoming a painting, with Taron Egerton taking over the role of Arthur. At present, we’re focusing on making that happen.

Regarding potential plot points for Kingsman 3, director Vaughn has hinted that the story may focus on the dynamic between Eggsy and Harry, stating this in prior comments.

Eggsy and Harry are definitely part of it. The movie revolves around their team reuniting, creating a moment where… when we penned the script, we wanted to explore the bond between Eggsy and Harry. We wondered, what could be the most compelling reason for them to either deepen their affection or to harbor resentment towards each other forever? This film delves into that question: will they find love or will they remain adversaries?

Currently, Taron Egerton is once again taking up the role of an action hero in the Netflix thriller “Carry-On”. In this film, he plays a young Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent who gets caught up in a tricky situation. He’s forced to let a suspicious package onto a plane during Christmas time due to blackmail.
