Tatiana Maslany Dives into Dark Comedy with New Apple TV Thriller!

In my admiration, I can’t help but express how thrilled I am to see Tatiana Maslany collaborating with David Gordon Green on a new television project. Despite her humble beginnings playing secondary roles in shows like “Parks and Recreation” and “The Nativity,” she truly shone in the groundbreaking series “Orphan Black,” for which she won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2016 Primetime Emmys. Following this success, she’s graced our screens in films like “The Monkey” adaptation and made her mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk in “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.” Now, I can hardly wait to see what exciting roles await her in this new endeavor.

According to Variety, it’s been announced that Tatiana Maslany will take on the lead role in “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” a forthcoming comedy thriller for Apple TV+. This exciting project is under the direction of David Gordon Green, who has previously worked on films like “Pineapple Express” and “Halloween.” The story revolves around Maslany’s character, a recently divorced mother, who unwittingly tumbles into a perilous world of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer. Created by David J. Rosen, renowned for his work on shows like “Sugar” and “Hunters,” the series consists of ten half-hour episodes.

The latest addition to Max Maslany’s growing list of projects is titled “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.” This upcoming venture sees her joining forces once more with director Osgood Perkins, who was behind the camera for “The Monkey.” In “Keeper,” set to premiere on October 3, 2025, Max Maslany portrays a woman at a secluded cabin who encounters a menacing presence when her husband departs. Given the success of “The Monkey” at the box office, “Keeper” may well become another triumph for Max Maslany. However, there’s no word yet on whether she will be involved in the upcoming MCU team-up film, “Avengers: Doomsday.

What Does This Mean for She-Hulk’s Return?

When Marvel selected Tatiana Maslany for the role of Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk, it was a significant coup for the studio, bringing in one of today’s top acting talents. However, more than two years have passed since She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premiered, and there’s been no indication of Season 2 or a comeback for her character. Given the hurtful rhetoric that Maslany and the show faced, such as baseless accusations suggesting she was suing Marvel Studios and Ryan Reynolds, it’s disheartening to see Marvel Studios fail to support Maslanny in any way. There’s a risk that Marvel could lose one of their top stars due to mismanagement, as Maslany looks for creative opportunities that are both fulfilling for her and get produced.

It’s disappointing that there seems to be no indication of Tatiana Maslany reprising her dual roles as Jennifer Walters and She-Hulk in the upcoming film, “Avengers: Doomsday,” given the potential for her character in previous Marvel Universe projects like “Daredevil: Born Again,” “Captain America: Brave New World,” and “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.” The writers of these series have so far avoided any references to “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and her absence from the plots seems intentional, which is puzzling since she could have added depth to certain plot points, such as Isaiah Bradley’s imprisonment. Hopefully, this isn’t a sign that She-Hulk’s journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to an end prematurely.
