Taylor Swift will present at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy announced Thursday.
I’m thrilled to share that my album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has been recognized in not one, but two categories – Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Plus, my song “Fortnight” is nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year! That’s not all, I’ve also got a nod for Best Pop Duo Performance, thanks to my collaboration with Gracie Abrams on our track “us.” The category in which the superstar will appear remains a mystery, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all nominees! (As a gamer, I’d say it feels like leveling up!)
Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Shakira, along with several emerging artists such as Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, will perform at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Additionally, Benson Boone, Doechii, RAYE, and Teddy Swims have been announced as performers for the event.
Tonight’s top nominee is Beyoncé, boasting a total of 11 nominations, while Charli XCX and Post Malone trail closely behind with 8 nominations each.
Swift is competing against Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Jacob Collier, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé, and André 3000 for the Album of the Year award. However, Beyoncé, who has 11 nominations this year, is the frontrunner. Many fans are hoping (and maybe even praying) that she wins, although it’s worth noting that despite being nominated five times before, Beyoncé hasn’t won yet.
Lori Majewski from The Hollywood Reporter suggested in her Grammy predictions that it’s unlikely Beyoncé performed eight songs from “Cowboy Carter” live on Netflix instead of the Super Bowl, as a defiant gesture against the NFL during their Christmas Gameday event, because she is a Texans fan. Instead, it’s more plausible to assume that Beyoncé, having released an album nine months prior which made her the first Black woman to top Billboard’s country album chart and introduced Shaboozey while reinterpreting “Jolene,” was reminding the Recording Academy during voting season that she doesn’t just create music, but makes history. After all, they wouldn’t dare deny her another nomination, would they?
In February 2025, the Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Once again, Trevor Noah will serve as the event’s host, marking his fifth year in a row.
