As a seasoned Swiftie with over a decade of Taylor Swift fandom under my belt, I can confidently say that we’re always on the lookout for any hints or clues about her upcoming projects. The red thigh-high boots Taylor wore to the Kansas City Chiefs game have certainly sparked some intriguing theories in the Swiftie community. While it’s hard not to see a connection between these bold boots and the iconic ones from “Look What You Made Me Do,” I’m trying to keep my hopes in check, given our history of false alarms.
Gather around fellow Taylor Swift fans, as once more we find ourselves speculating about the potential re-release of her album “Reputation“. Amongst her upcoming endeavors, this topic has sparked much discussion and it seems like we’ve been anticipating its arrival for an eternity. Although the exact date remains uncertain, Swifties have noticed a possible connection between Taylor’s first game-day outfit of the NFL season – featuring striking red thigh-high boots – and the album, making us ponder if this could be a hint towards “Rep“.
At the Kansas City Chiefs’ initial game of the season, Taylor Swift made an appearance to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce. She donned a stylish denim ensemble paired with captivating red thigh-high boots (as shown below). While it’s possible she simply wanted to flaunt some amazing footwear alongside her denim tank top and shorts, many Swift fans believe there was more to it than just that.
During the pause in Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and with fans still buzzing about the unexpected sneak peek of her song “Rep” as she performed “I Did Something Bad” without announcing the album’s return, the mischief continues.
On X, @nola_swiftie shared two images. One picture showed the pop star in a golf cart en route to her box during Kelce’s September 5 game, while the other was taken from one of Swift’s iconic music videos, “Look What You Made Me Do.” In the caption, she wrote:
Thigh high red boots, huh?
In the image provided, Swift’s game-day shoes appear strikingly similar to the boots she sported in her Reputation music video.
It’s quite plausible that this is merely a coincidence. Many people commenting on the post seem to believe she chose those boots purely for fashion reasons. Furthermore, whether they represent a political “Rep” symbol or not, they do match well with the Chiefs’ colors, red and gold.
Nevertheless, the 23,000 likes and numerous shares indicate a significant number of Swifties embracing this theory. Some of them have even commented on it.

It’s no surprise that fans of Taylor Swift, known as Swifties, often ponder over the smallest details she shares with us. For quite some time now, we’ve been wondering when her album Reputation might drop, and past speculations have turned out to be wrong, so it’s tough to tell if these boots could be a hint or not.
However, there’s no denying that they are at the very least Rep-coded.
The boots you’re referring to are quite daring, and it’s tough not to draw parallels with Taylor Swift’s famous shoes from the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. Regardless of whether they hint at the upcoming release of Reputation, they exude strength, and I appreciate how they capture the energy of her sixth album.
All this is to say, we always need to be on our toes as Swifties, because you never know what is hinting at her next project, especially when it comes to Rep. As Taylor Swift herself said: “There will be no explanation, there will just be reputation.”
