Ted Danson’s A Man On The Inside Is Crushing On Rotten Tomatoes With A Score That’s Over 90%, But It’s The Audience Rating That’s Really Impressing Me

As a longtime fan of Ted Danson and Mike Schur’s works, I can confidently say that “A Man on the Inside” is another home run for both of them. Having grown up watching Cheers and more recently binge-watching The Good Place, it’s heartening to see these talented individuals collaborate once again.

As we approach 2024, the TV schedule might seem to be slowing down, but don’t let that fool you – there’s no scarcity of excellent shows! Particularly for Netflix subscribers, there’s been a surge of top-notch originals lately. One such gem is the comedy series “A Man on the Inside“, starring beloved actor Ted Danson. This comedy has not only made a splash on the giant streaming platform, but it has also garnered a Rotten Tomatoes score that surpasses 90%. Yet, what truly captivates me is the audience rating on that same site.

Produced by Michael Schur from “The Good Place,” this humorous new series boasts an astounding 97% approval rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes. To call this remarkable would be an understatement; such high scores are rarely seen, regardless of the scale (big or small-screen) of a production reviewed on that platform. However, critical acclaim is only one aspect when it comes to Rotten Tomatoes (RT). There’s also the audience rating, and in this case, Michael Schur’s latest show has already garnered a 94% positive response from viewers.

You might ponder why I consider the second evaluation as more noteworthy than the first. While critics’ views are undeniably valuable, it can sometimes be a challenge to captivate general viewers with certain titles. After all, audiences can be quite tough on shows, so it’s truly an achievement when one manages to resonate with them and find a spot in their hearts (and streaming lists). Frankly, given the widespread popularity of this new comedy series, I wouldn’t be taken aback if its audience rating increases further.

A series titled “Man Undercover” draws inspiration from the 2020 documentary film “The Mole Agent“, directed by Maite Alberdi. In this production, Ted Danson portrays Charles Nieuwendyk, a widowed former professor who takes on a unique job: acting as an undercover investigator in a retirement home to find a missing ruby necklace. As he delves deeper into the community, Charles forms emotional connections with some of the residents, leading to a blend of humor and heart-wrenching emotion that could leave viewers in tears.

2024 Netflix Movie And TV Show Release Dates

There’s no denying the overwhelming positive response to “Man on the Inside” from critics so far. The reviews have been downright exceptional, with some experts even going as far as to describe it as “flawless television.” Frankly, it’s always delightful to witness a show receiving such admiration.

After achieving such great results with the first season, it’s only natural to ponder if there might be plans for a second round. In fact, just recently, Mike Schur hinted at the possibility of a Season 2 in an interview with TopMob, suggesting that he and his team are eager to produce more episodes should the opportunity arise. Moreover, Schur hinted that they may hear about renewal news relatively soon. However, as of now, we’re still waiting to learn whether we can look forward to another season or not.

It’s quite unlikely that the TV series starring Ted Danson won’t get renewed for another season, given it was the top trending show on Netflix for a while and is now ranking fourth. Combined with its high RT ratings, these factors increase the likelihood of the show coming back. Although we must wait to see what happens, the team behind the series can at least feel confident that they’ve produced something resonating with viewers.

Currently, you have the opportunity to watch “A Man on the Inside” straight away on Netflix. Interestingly enough, if you’re looking for another excellent show that’s a collaboration between Danson and Schur, you can also stream “The Good Place” on the very same platform.
