‘Ted Lasso’ Moves Closer to Season 4 Return

As a devoted Ted Lasso fan with countless hours spent watching, laughing, and cheering for this heartwarming show, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of season four! The news that Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift have had their options picked up has set my heart racing like a well-coached soccer team on match day.

It looks like fans may get a Ted Lasso season four after all.

Warner Bros. Television has opted to keep three actors from the original three-season run on file, as they were contracted under the U.K.’s acting union Equity. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift have been asked to reprise their roles as Rebecca Walton, Roy Kent, and Leslie Higgins in a potential future project.

The Emmy-winning soccer comedy series is now set for its fourth season, with potential deals being negotiated first. Once these agreements are in place, the studio will need to work out fresh contracts for the show’s primary cast members, who belong to SAG-AFTRA. This group encompasses co-creators/executive producers like Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, as well as Juno Temple.

Reps for WBTV declined to comment. THR has reached out to Apple TV+ as well.

More to come.
