The fourth season of the beloved Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso might be in production as early as today – we just didn’t know! This exciting news was confirmed today when a main cast member (or coach), who happens to be the star of the show, Jason Sudeikis, revealed his comedy tour has been postponed. He wasn’t very discreet about it, either.
In the popular series Ted Lasso, Nick Mohammed brings the character Nathan Shelley, also known as Nate or the Wonder Kid, to life. However, prior to this role, Mohammed was known for playing Mr. Swallow on both television and stage. As of now, Mr. Swallow is touring throughout the United Kingdom; however, it appears some commitments have necessitated a rescheduling of some dates. This adjustment was shared by Mohammed in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), with the hashtag “#tedlasso” accompanying the caption: “An important announcement from Mr. Swallow regarding his upcoming brand new tour: ‘Show Pony'”.
In the video, although it’s not an official confirmation, there appears to be a significant prop from the show Ted Lasso – a banner that reads “BELIEVE.” The thick accent of the character Mohammed doesn’t mask the message, which seems like a subtle nod to fans eagerly anticipating news about Season 4. To add fuel to the fire, the hashtag #tedlasso is included in the post text.
But as Mr. Swallow put it:
In the interim, it would be great if folks could refrain from making assumptions about the situation. I prefer not to have people getting worked up or overly concerned.
Is it safe to assume that the program is indeed filming its fourth season at this moment or will be soon? Mohammed’s statement could imply two possibilities: either an official announcement is imminent, or he might be pulling a trick on everyone, further fueling our dislike for his character in the series. Regarding Nate’s return to the show, it remains unclear how they plan to handle his comeback amidst fan resentment stemming from past events.
Does ‘Ted Lasso’s Nate Deserve Redemption?
The key question might be: Are you ready for the continuation of ‘Ted Lasso’ without Ted himself? With Ted at the helm, AFC Richmond has become more than just a soccer team; it’s a symbol of underdog spirit, proving that even the smallest teams can challenge the giants. But with rumors swirling about Season 4, there’s a possibility that Jason Sudeikis might not return as coach for AFC Richmond. It would be a blow to fans, but we must consider this scenario, no matter how uncomfortable it makes us feel.
If that occurs, it’s clear that Nate will assume a significant position within the club. In the final episode of Season 3, he modestly rejoined the team and aimed for redemption following his controversial tenure as head coach at Richmond’s rival club, which transformed him into an unlikable and insecure individual. One of Ted’s teachings is undoubtedly forgiveness, but forgiving Nate won’t be simple. Yet, Mohammed announcing Season 4 might mark the start of a lengthy journey during which we must move on from the past.
