As a gamer with a deep-rooted love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) franchise, I couldn’t contain my excitement upon learning about the exciting developments in the universe that I hold so dear. Seth Rogen, who helped bring the Turtles back to life on the big screen, has given us a tantalizing update on the upcoming sequel. The movie already has a title and is fully storyboarded – and if Seth’s reaction is anything to go by, it’s going to be epic!
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem revitalized the interest in the TMNT series, and now Seth Rogen, who contributed to its scripting and production, has shared an enticing update regarding its upcoming sequel. Following their victory over Superfly in the 2023 movie, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael seemed to settle down for a tranquil existence. Yet, the serenity was short-lived for such heroic figures, leaving audiences with a chilling hint of more turmoil on the horizon.
The thrilling finale of Mutant Mayhem left fans on the edge of their seats with a sneak peek of the Shredder and his Foot Clan. When the credits ended, anticipation ran high for more. Recently, Paramount+ unveiled plans for a new series titled Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, slated to premiere in August. This exciting news brings our beloved turtle quartet to your living room screens. However, the question on everyone’s mind is: what’s the latest with the big-screen sequel that was hinted at last year?
In an exclusive interview with ComicBook.com, I shared some thrilling news about our upcoming film project. I’m delighted to announce that not only does it now have a title, but the entire story has been meticulously planned out through storyboards.
The title is fascinating, but I find myself at a loss for words to describe it. Yet, upon seeing it displayed, I couldn’t help but leap to my feet and applaud. An intriguing animation, in fact an animated storyboard of the entire film, is currently under production.
Mutant Mayhem Universe Will Go Beyond TV and Movies
As a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saga, I’m thrilled to share that starting August 9, Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, and Ayo Edebiri will once again bring their voices to life for the new Paramount+ series. But that’s not all! More exciting adventures are on the horizon as we look forward to the upcoming series and theatrical sequel releases, expanding the captivating world of Mutant Mayhem.
As a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe, I’m thrilled to share that starting October 18, 2024, we’ll be able to join our beloved heroes – Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo – in an all-new, immersive adventure: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed. This captivating 3D platformer game, set within the same universe as the upcoming movie and TV series, invites us to team up with our turtle friends as they face off against a new breed of mutants, as well as familiar adversaries. Get ready for some heart-pounding action, engaging storylines, and a whole lot of ninja fun! The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Windows, and Steam platforms.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continues to be one of Paramount’s massively successful global intellectual properties. Per Deadline, global merchandise sales for the franchise have amassed over $8 billion since 2012. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem generated over $180 million at the box office on a $70 million budget. With new additions on the way for this era of the turtles and decades-worth of TMNT merchandise, video games, movies, and TV series to appeal to multiple generations of turtle fans, it’s clear that Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael will continue to be cowabunga cash cows for Nickelodeon and Paramount well into the foreseeable future.
The teenage mutant ninja turtles’ adventure “Mutant Mayhem” can currently be streamed on Paramount+, MGM+, and Amazon Prime Video.
