Rather than addressing the raised issues, the developers increased the power level of almost all characters, even those like Dragunov and Jin who didn’t require such enhancements.
Bandai Namco hasn’t responded to this puzzling design approach, which has ignited criticism and ultimately resulted in players giving the game negative reviews on Steam. Over 1,800 users have now rated it as ‘Generally Negative.’ Fans claim that the latest update has transformed the game into a combative 50/50 fight, with some suggesting it could be an April Fool’s prank from Tekken 8’s director, Katsuhiro Harada.
Experienced players and Tekken 8 video producers have expressed their bewilderment and irritation across various social media sites such as X (previously known as Twitter). They had anticipated that the long-awaited update would enhance defensive possibilities, but instead they received a jumble of modifications that seem incongruent with the gameplay style of Tekken 8.
It’s not a new issue that players are expressing worries about. Ever since the game was initially released, several players have pointed out a recurring design trend, notably the excessive power of the Heat System. This system tends to overly reward aggressive play styles, making it biased towards games like rush-down characters such as Dragunov, who were already powerful in the meta.
