As a gamer with a keen eye for design and a soft spot for minimalistic aesthetics, I must say that Tekla’s latest Le Corbusier-inspired blanket line has caught my attention like no other. Coming from someone who’s spent countless hours in the pixelated world of black and white, these vibrant hues are a breath of fresh air.
In the fourth series of her Le Corbusier-inspired throw blanket collection, Tekla uses a wider range of hues derived from the architect’s “architectural polychromy,” a carefully selected set of complementary colors that Le Corbusier developed between 1931 and 1959. This special edition was created in collaboration with Les Couleurs Suisse AG, the authorized licensor of Le Corbusier’s architectural color palette.
In this new collection, we’ve added three fresh hues: Blanc is a delicate shade of off-white, Terre Sienne Brulee offers a warm, earthy brown tone, while Vert Anglais presents a soft, light sage green. As with previous launches from the line, these fabrics are expertly crafted by skilled Spanish artisans using premium mohair. To give the blankets their luxurious, plush texture, they undergo an extra brushing process and are adorned with hand-sewn tassels.
Le Corbusier’s architecture and design philosophy are often recognized as key contributors to the growth of Modernism, a movement that introduced the simple, geometric style in architecture that is widely used today. Similarly, Tekla’s unique collection reflects their architectural values, finding inspiration in renowned designers such as John Pawson, Donald Judd, and Agnes Martin.
You can find the latest offerings from The Colours of Le Corbusier blanket collection right now at Tekla’s online shop, Tekla’s store in Copenhagen, as well as at some select physical stores.
